it’s been several weeks since our vegas trip, and as you can probably tell, we didn’t hit the jackpot. we had to return to our jobs the following monday. oh well. maybe next time.

we did have an excellent time, though! for lots and lots and lots of pics of drinking and dancing, check out our photos page.

as i type this, it’s almost 10pm friday night, the day after thanksgiving. the so-called black friday. we were out all day today buying and shopping for various things we’re going to want/need for the upcoming move.

here’s a pic i just took with my macbook’s camera. all three of the girls are accounted for here; chloe is under the blanket somewhere.

oh yeah! i just mentioned moving. that’s right, in case you didn’t already know, we’re moving. nicki has lived at our current place for three years (which means it’s been two years for me), and we’ve begun to outgrow its space. so she found a place almost by accident that’s literally a block north of where we are now. same neighborhood, bigger space. we’re excited!

a little over a week has passed since i wrote the first parts of this post, and we’ve kept busy. tonight will be charlet’s second class of dog school. she’s doing fairly well, although she’s still a spazzoid. our apartment has become a true box farm at this point. we’re trying our best to keep our heads above the chaos. the pieces are falling into place though, hopefully the move will be as smooth as possible. for now, though, there’s still a lot left to pack. we’ve made a lot of progress, though.

this weekend we’ll see my parents for our own li’l xmas. then the next weekend we move. then the next weekend we leave for our xmas trip in the keys. no rest for the wicked!

anyway, stay tuned, i’ll have a potpourri of nice pictures to post in the coming days. i just wanted to send this quick update while i had a few spare moments!

I hate packing. Its my least favorite part of moving. Especially now that we pay movers to do all the lifting and toting… so I don’t envy you guys on that respect. But it does have a silver lining.

In addition to having more space - you’ll both have a space to create something new in - one you can both feel like its yours. I know it can be hard moving into someone else’s place with all their ’stuff’ and never quite feeling at home. (Not sure if the old place was like that for you, but it usually is).

Suffice to say, I can’t wait to come up and see the new place in January!
